To Be Alive

Empty parchment, dusty strings
Lost in the quiet that summer brings

The pressured air, the exhausting heat
I barely feel my heart beat

I miss the winter's grace, her music fair
Singing life into me with her crisp clear air

A whispered wish, softly flows to the shore
To greet this moment and feel alive once more
